Direct Access
Tired of Waiting On Referrals To See A Physical Therapist?
Every state has passed legislation called direct access that allows physical therapists to assess and treat patients without the need for a physician’s referral.
Direct Access makes health care more efficient and effective, allowing you to see our physical therapists as soon as possible! The sooner you get in the faster you can start feeling better.
Direct Access also helps you save time and get you back to the activities you enjoy faster. Direct Access is all about having the freedom to make your own decisions without being bound by rules. It allows you to be in charge of your medical treatment.
Insurance Info
We gladly accept the insurance plans listed below. If your plan is not listed, please call us at 000-000-0000 as we are always adding new insurance plans.
As a courtesy to our patients, we will verify your health benefits prior to your arrival to determine if there will be any copayment, deductible, or coinsurance for therapy services.
Testimonials
“I was in a position where my hamstring was just not getting better because of football and I did not know what to do. Ms Roberts showed me why it wasn’t getting better and gave me several tips and stretches to do that have helped get back on the field. Now I have full confidence in my hamstring because of her.”

After the first treatment I walked out without pain! After 3 treatments I am back on the treadmill and couldn’t be happier! Just ran 2.5 miles NO PAIN! As a result of her holistic treatment program and evaluation, she has helped get rid of my 10+ year chronic hip pain.”

FAQs
! What office policies should I be aware of?
If you are unable to make it to your appointment due to illness or another emergency, our clinic requests that you call us at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time to let us know. Any missed appointments that have not been rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance will result in a non-refundable charge of 50.00 dollars.
We also ask that if you have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus, please reschedule your appointment with our front desk so that we can maintain a safe, healthy environment for our patients and employees.
Can I choose any physical therapy clinic for treatment?
Thanks to Direct Access laws, yes, you can choose!
The APTA’s website states, “Direct access means the removal of the physician referral mandated by state law to access physical therapist services for evaluation and treatment. Every state, the District of Columbia, and the US Virgin Islands allow for evaluation and some form of treatment without a physician referral.”
To put it another way, you can choose which clinic you want to go to instead of waiting for your primary care physician to refer you to one. This does not require a referral or a prescription! Your insurance may dictate where you can go if you want your treatment to be covered by insurance so this can limit your options. However at New You Health and Wellness we are a cash business (no problem with credit cards or checks either) and because of that, we work for you, not the insurance company. Unfortunately many clinics who take insurance treat you based on what is covered by your insurance.
Do I Have to Have Internal Assessments if I am Seeing You for Pelvic Floor Issues or Sexual Health?
Internal treatments are an option but they are not necessary for everyone to feel better AND will only ever be done if you are comfortable with it. Many treatment techniques including Softwave treatment are done externally with great results.
However if your diagnosis related to pelvic health or sexual health would benefit from internal treatment this will be discussed with each patient and decided upon together. You will only ever receive treatments that are explained thoroughly to you and that you are comfortable with.
Do I need a doctors referral to see you?
We are always happy to partner with your other healthcare providers in your care. If you have a physician referral, please bring it to your first appointment. If you do not have a referral, we are still able to see you for your initial evaluation! The state of Wisconsin has direct-access for physical therapy, meaning that you are able to seek out physical therapy without a referral by a physician under certain circumstances. However, in order to continue treatment you may be required to see your physician. This is discussed with you at your initial evaluation.
