What causes female infertility?
Female infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after 12 months of unprotected intercourse. It affects one in six couples and it can be caused by different factors.
There are many causes of female infertility: ovulation disorder, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, uterine fibroids, hormonal imbalance, thyroid disorders and more. Female infertility can be the result of irregular or absent menstrual periods or periods that last longer than usual; pelvic pain; abnormal vaginal discharge.
Types of female infertility include:
- Secondary Infertility. When a woman has had a child already but trying for another is proving to be a challenge.
- Unexplained infertility. This is diagnosed when a cause for not getting pregnant cannot be found. Everything appears normal. At New You Health and Wellness we usually find that ‘normal’ isn’t always optimal when it comes to trying to get pregnant so we dig past the standard tests to find the nuances that could be the game changer for you and your fertility.
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). An issue that some women have that results in irregular or absent menstrual cycles and or an imbalance of hormones can affect fertility but the good news is there are many interventions that don’t involve drugs or surgery that can significantly improve the chances of getting pregnant after being diagnosed with PCOS.
- Endometriosis/Adenomyosis. Endometriosis is a disease that can be symptomatic during menstruation. It develops when the endometrium tissue (a similar tissue to the lining of the uterus) is found outside of the womb, where it is not supposed to be. This results in inflammation and in some women severe pain. Other women don’t know they have endometriosis until investigations are done for other issues such as unexplained infertility. Often accompanied by less than optimal hormone imbalance between estrogen and progesterone, endometriosis and adenomyosis can be addressed and your fertility improved.
What causes male infertility?
Male infertility is a condition where the male partner is not able to produce sperm that can fertilize an egg. There are many possible causes of male infertility, including lifestyle, environmental factors, and medical conditions.
Male infertility can also be caused by lifestyle choices such as smoking and alcohol consumption or exposure to toxins such as lead and mercury in the environment or workplace.
A main cause of male infertility is the lack of sperm production. This happens when the testes do not make enough sperm or when the tubes that carry sperm from the testes are blocked or damaged. This could be the result of low testosterone as well as lifestyle previously mentioned. Low testosterone can be addressed without drugs or hormones. As a matter of fact if you take testosterone it usually decreases sperm count or can eliminate the production of sperm all together. Our advanced technology Softwave therapy has been shown to improve testosterone in men. Call today to find out how.
What treatments are offered at New You Health and Wellness?
We offer conception and fertility support so you can conceive naturally. Our treatments can be a holistic alternative to IVF therapy or the perfect adjunct to increase the success of your medical fertility treatments. By addressing fascial restriction and reducing adhesion, we can help increase the chance of conception by increasing blood flow to your pelvic organs, improving the mobility of pelvic organs, and loosening restrictions in uterine tubes and around the ovaries. This makes it easier for sperm and egg to pass into the uterus.
